DAY FOUR – LOVING YOUR BODY

This is a Great Time to Begin to Love your Body

Loving your body doesn’t mean you have to change it. It doesn’t mean you look at what you have and feel disappointed, regret or even angry that you weren’t born taller or thinner.

It’s time to love your body exactly as it is. If not now, then when?

Can you get enough Appreciation?

Yesterday we spoke about appreciation and how important that was to connect us to our higher selves. It’s the place where miracles are born.

Today follows along with appreciation because it’s about loving your body.

Begin to Love your Body

Loving your body doesn’t mean you have to change it. It doesn’t mean you look at what you have and feel disappointed, regret or even angry that you weren’t born taller, thinner, richer or younger.

I look at other people’s beautiful skin and think how wonderful it would have been to have that flawless complexion that seems to be everywhere now. But it was never going to be. My genes attracted acne and it came out in my skin.

So there’s no use wishing for something that doesn’t exist.

That’s why we use Mirror Work

Mirror work was made popular by the late Louise Hay who, even as a model, found that she needed to improve how she felt about her body and herself. She knew that self-love was the key to happiness and without that, your life is never fulfilled, no matter what you achieve.

So, to honor the work Louise Hay put into helping us love ourselves exactly as we are, today we’ll begin mirror work.

To do this, all you do is commit 5-10 minutes each morning to stand in front of a mirror (naked if you’re brave enough, but not essential) and use affirmations.

Here’s the key to using affirmations

Choose phrases that you resonate with.

For instance if you say “I love myself exactly as I am” and use that as an affirmation in the mirror and your mind is saying “No you don’t”, then that’s counterproductive. It’s not a phrase you resonate with…yet.

So begin with something that doesn’t have that resistance within, in other words there is no inner argument going on.

Such as: “I’m willing to move towards loving myself” or “I’m taking the next step on my journey to love” or “I really love how things are unfolding in my life”.

You’ll need to gauge within, how that resonates with you. You can have more than one affirmation. In fact, you can use these affirmations to feel better and better about yourself.

It’s a really great way to begin the day.

You might think these affirmations don’t have anything to do with your body but they do. Accepting yourself is the whole of you, inside and out.

Do it with me.

How to do this:

1. Watch the Day 4 video, Love your Body.

2. Find a phrase that resonates to use as an affirmation

3. Begin Mirror work

4. Write in your Self-Care Journal
